Today, Provisional President Hasan Çakar has written the first decree since the adoption of the new Constitution, establishing the electoral laws for Hasanistan ahead of the upcoming planned presidential election, establishing the Supreme Electoral Council and having dismissed almost all legislation, executive orders and treaties before the date of the adoption of the current Constiution.
The Presidential Decree establishes that presidential elections will use an instant runoff voting system, with candidates requiring 45% or more of vote to win the election. This decision has been made to ensure an element of proportionality. The Supreme Electoral Council has been established, being a new organ of government under the influence of the judiciary.
Now that electoral law has been established, an election can finally be organized. Hasan Çakar says that the election will be declared before the end of next week.
